Meet the #Bookstagrammer & #Blogger – Jennifer

Hey there Bookwyrms! Its Friday and that means *drum roll* It’s time for … Meet the #Bookstagrammer, #Blogger & #Bookshark!

Without further adieu, let’s put our hands together for my next guest!!

Name & @handle: Jennifer , @travelingbeachbibliophile

Jennifer’s a #bookstagrammer & #blogger

City: Lexington, KY

Favorite Genres: I like to alternate between Mystery/Thriller and Historical Fiction

Who are your top 3 villains?

Oh, wow!! That’s a hard question. I don’t think one really sticks out in my head. I think I truly empathize with every character so I don’t know if I even see them as villains.

What do you like the most about the book community? Least?

I love the camaraderie in the book community. It seems like the one place on social media where people encourage each other, build each other up, rather than tear each other down. I have been met with great support, friendliness, and openness since being a part of this ‘book life’. It feels wonderful to connect and befriend people from all over the country, the world even, and share my love for all things books. Plus, I know the ‘book community’ will never tire of hearing me talk about my obsession with reading. In my every day life, that is not the case

What I like least: not having enough time to spend searching, reading about, talking with, making friends with, and scrolling through the wonderful and awe-inspiring pages of the members of this community.

What’s your favorite childhood book?

Definitely Charlotte’s Web!! I am a pre-school teacher and I read it to my students every year. And every year I cry, laugh, smile, and experience gut-wrenching emotion when I read it to them. That’s the sign of true and great literature.

Interviewer’s Interruption: I too cry every time I watch and read Charlotte’s Web. This may sound silly but as a young child Charlotte’s Web and The Lion King ripped my heart out. In some ways I consider them my first horror films lol. I think it’s so sweet that you read this story to your students!

Do you re-read books? What are some of your favorites/go-to’s?

Absolutely!! The above mentioned Charlotte’s Web, The Thorn Birds (read it so many times I feel like these people are my family), The Nightingale, and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. There are so many I want to read again… but yet so many on my TBR list… agonizing choices !!

What are your favorite movie or tv show adaptations?

Hmmm, I honestly don’t watch a lot of TV/Movies, and when I do, I don’t watch shows that were books I’ve read. There is just no way a movie can ever come close to the book in my opinion.

Interviewer’s Interruption: Ahh tis the plight of avid readers! The adaptations don’t measure up completely lol

Thank you for allowing us to get to know you Jennifer! I appreciate your perspective on villainous characters as well as your heart felt words about the book community. It was a true joy and pleasure to conduct this interview with you!
